Introducing a new procurement platform for a global mining company.

Web (UX/UI) Design for Newmont Corporation (Peñasquito, Mexico) | 2021 | Lead UX/UI Designer

Project Info

Scope

Newmont Corporation, the world’s largest gold mining company, engaged my team in 2021 to design and develop a website for their Penasquito mine in Mexico. The goal was to engage local small business operators by providing accessible resources and encouraging registration on Newmont’s online procurement system. The challenge was to create a site that balanced Newmont’s corporate brand guidelines with the needs of the local market.

Process

I began by gathering insights from stakeholders and conducting research to understand both client and end-user needs. This informed our information architecture and content requirements. I then created interactive wireframes to illustrate the proposed user flow, securing feedback and approval before moving on to the final design.

Solution

The final product was a user-friendly website that effectively delivered valuable information to local suppliers while encouraging registration on the procurement system. We incorporated global styles, reusable components, and custom icons to ensure brand consistency and easy client maintenance. The site successfully provided a seamless and engaging experience for the local market, aligned with Newmont’s brand.
