Scope

JMS is a workforce safety monitoring solution to ensure safe journeys for mobile workforces and lone workers. The project required a design-focused update to the existing JMS web portal. My task was to enhance the interface of the web portal dashboard and live mapping function, with the aim of improving user experience and ensuring that the platform's features were easily accessible and intuitive. The update was essential to maintain the software's effectiveness while modernising its design to meet current user expectations.

Process

I began by conducting a thorough assessment of the current interface, identifying areas where usability could be improved. I engaged with key stakeholders to gather insights on user needs and pain points, focusing on the live mapping function and dashboard. Wireframes and prototypes were then developed, incorporating user feedback and design best practices. Throughout the process, I iterated on designs based on stakeholder input, ensuring that each update aligned with the software's functionality and user requirements.

Solution

The final design introduced a more streamlined and user-friendly interface for the JMS web portal dashboard and live mapping function. Key improvements included a more intuitive layout, enhanced visual hierarchy, and simplified navigation. These updates made it easier for users to monitor and manage their fleets in real-time, with clearer access to the platform's advanced safety features..
