Project Info

Scope

The Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ), representing all 77 local councils in the state, commissioned me to design the "Conquering the Housing Crisis" report. This project aimed to shed light on critical bottlenecks hindering the timely delivery of essential housing in Queensland, with a focus on key areas like approval processes, infrastructure, affordability, and collaborative efforts. My deliverables for this project included custom illustrated icons and infographics, an 8-page corporate document, and a one-page supplementary A4 document.

Process

I began by conducting an in-depth analysis of the report’s content to identify the most effective ways to visually communicate the key issues. This involved close collaboration with the LGAQ team to ensure that the design aligned with the report’s objectives and the organisation's brand guidelines. I then developed a series of custom illustrated icons and infographics to represent complex data and concepts in a clear and engaging manner. Throughout the design process, I focused on maintaining a balance between visual appeal and clarity to ensure that the document was both informative and accessible.

Solution

The final design is a polished, professional report that effectively highlights the key challenges and solutions related to Queensland's housing crisis. The custom icons and infographics brought the data to life, making the report visually engaging and easy to navigate. The 8-page corporate document provides a comprehensive overview, while the supplementary one-page A4 document offers a concise summary for broader distribution. The end result is a visually cohesive set of materials that successfully communicates the urgency of the housing crisis and the need for coordinated action.
